“Whatever you put around yourself, you will be the mirror of it. Surround yourself with things (and people) you love.”
Going it alone isn’t an option for me anymore; I want to be surrounded by people I love, respect and admire, who bring their unique energy to the retreat to ultimately enhance the experience of our incredible retreatants. So that’s what I’m doing, building a team of diverse, thought-provoking and honest human beings who will make the experience even more oh-so-incredible. Come meet these awesome folks…
Chief Wellness Officer
Live It Active is owned and operated by Morgan Craig-Broadwith, a health and wellness specialist with a genuine passion for helping individuals become gritty badasses while ensuring they remain compassionate to themselves along the way (we can’t soldier on if we aren’t well, right?).
Her personal and professional journey compelled her to develop the Rejuvenation Retreat because she believes we need and crave greater connection to our work, our family, our community and our selves. She believe writing a Personal Manifesto is a key ingredient to leading a wholehearted life: a life of vulnerability, openness and courage.
Morgan’s background is psychology and exercise physiology, with a specific focus on psychological health. Throughout her career thus far, she has developed and implemented countless workplace psychological and physical health programs, initiatives and education sessions / workshops. She loves challenging the status quo, asking the big questions and incorporating the odd high kick into her presentations.
Morgan lives in Calgary, Alberta, with her husband, daughter and son. She received her M.Sc., Exercise Physiology and B.A. (Hons.), Psychology from Queen’s University. In addition to operating Live It Active, she works full-time in oil and gas leading the diversity and inclusion portfolio. As an Albertan from Ontario, Morgan spends as much time in the mountains as possible – hiking, meditating and exploring the great beyond.
Our paths collided at a previous employer – we were both active participants at the company’s wellness centre (yes, we were spoiled) and became fast friends over wine. Tamie has taught yoga (of all types) at all my Alberta retreats and her presence, participation and power is an essential ingredient to the day. I’m so glad she’s become our resident Yoga Guru.
Tamie discovered yoga in her early twenties and has been practicing ever since. There have been times in her life when she has deviated off the yogic path to pursue a trending fitness craze, but time and time again she’s returned to her mat to breath, ground and centre herself.
Leaving the corporate world in 2016, Tamie decided to take a leap of faith and begin her training. She completed her Yoga Alliance certified 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) training with Yoga Works based in California, as well as Yin teacher training with Stephanie Staniforth and feels, without a doubt, she is now on her life’s path, her soul’s journey. More recently, Tamie completed her Yoga Nidra training with Tanis Fishman, based in Calgary, Alberta.
In her spare time (when she is not playing with or driving her daughter) you can find Tamie with her nose in a book; she is hungry to learn. She has also begun a daily meditation practice that has allowed her to tap into a source of mindfulness and stillness that can sometimes be hard to reach in our busy tech-filled world.
As a yoga teacher, Tamie guides and shares her passion and knowledge of yoga with her students, but her students teach her so much. After rejoining the corporate world in 2018 and then joining the Live It Active team in 2019, Tamie continues to strive for balance, a somewhat unattainable, but important life-long goal. How lucky we are to have her be a part of our team.
As Nelson Mandela said: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
